We are so excited to announce the tour for Cards From Khloe’s Flower Shop by Isabella Louise Anderson!

“Engaging, heart-warming, and full of romance, this one is bound to please readers.”

As the owner of a successful florist shop, Khloe Harper trusts her instincts. She has a strong bond with her family and friends, but after being betrayed by her last love, she’s kept herself at arms’ length from romance. When dashing entertainment attorney Derek Thomas walks into her store, Khloe’s interest is piqued. What at first seems like a business relationship quickly turns into romance, and Derek slowly plucks away the petals she’s been hiding behind. Just as Khloe lets down her guard, she discovers that Derek may not be worthy of her love after all.

Frumpy Connie Albright has a faux fascination with an imaginary man named Walt, thinking that by sending herself flowers from him she’ll feel less out-of-place with the “mean girls” she works with. When she comes face to face with her possible prince charming and thinking she might have a happy ending, when a truth is revealed, she wonders if she’ll ever have a Cinderella story.

A recently widowed senior, Gabby Lewis, isn’t ready to give up on love—which means releasing herself from survivor’s guilt and taking a chance on finding happiness and companionship again. After signing up for an online dating site for senior citizens, much to her surprise, she’s matched with Harry, an energetic and loving man, who quickly eases himself into her heart. Will Gabby take the leap of falling in love again, knowing it’s possible to have two loves of her life?

As each woman’s story develops through flowers and cards sent from Khloe’s shop during the Fall months, they begin to learn that love can only truly blossom when you trust your heart.

Author Interview with Giana Darling

Today on the blog we have Giana Darling, author of The Evolution of Sin series.

Giana Darling.png

To start things off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background as an author?

I have been writing every day since I was in fourth grade and my teacher assigned us a creative writing assignment for Hallow. I wrote a story about kids going into a haunted house, losing their memory of the night and waking up the next morning as various mythical creatures (I’ve always had a thing for vampires). Since that day, I have written across many different genres but it wasn’t until I stumbled over Giselle and Sinclair’s love story, and Giselle family as a whole, that I knew I needed to take the plunge and publish my first book.

You mention on your blog that The Secret gets at the crux of your motivation for The Evolution of Sin series. Can you tell us a little bit more about that inspiration? How did you come up with this storyline? Why did you need to get this series down on paper?

It essentially boils down to my belief that all love is difficult and all the more beautiful for it. People talk about ‘timing’ and too many obstacles but in my experience, if you love something there really is nothing that can eviscerate it. The kind of love that takes your heart by storm is beautifully rare and it shouldn’t be taken for granted, no matter the consequences.

Being an author can be tough work. What pushes you to keep writing? Was it more challenging to write the second book in the series?

Honestly, I just finished writing the third and final book in the series, The Consequence, and that was by far the most difficult to write because I had to find a way to neatly and poetically say goodbye to characters that both myself and the readers have invested so much time and emotional energy in. The Secret was basically a breeze to write because it explored my original idea for the series as a whole.

Writing in general isn’t a chore though. If I don’t write every day, I feel physically unfit as if I haven’t taken my vitamins or had enough water to drink. My life is incredibly busy as I also own a pie company and am doing my postgraduate work but I can always find a few minutes to write even if it is on the corner of a pie box!

One reviewer wrote, “I LOVE THIS SERIES!! … But I think each one of these characters needs a book…” How many books can readers expect in the series? Do you have any books planned where the other characters take the lead?

I love that the readers are interested in Giselle’s family members because I’ve always planned to write Sebastian, Cosima, Elena and Cage’s love stories as well. It surprises me how involved people are in even the more tertiary character’s lives so I have also been toying with the idea of a few novellas too.

How is The Evolution of Sin series different from other romance novels? What makes it stand out?

I think romance novels generally steer clear of portraying the hero or heroine as confused, flawed or even morally wrong. Traditionally, heroine’s are supposed to be sweet and innocent, the hero ‘bad’ but only in superficial ways that makes them hotter. Authors are beginning to delve more into the underbelly of romance and sex and I love it! The Evolution Of Sin Trilogy is about a couple who find themselves deliberately lying and betraying both themselves and the people in their lives because of their taboo love. They make stupid choices, give in to temptation and could even be considered selfish and amoral. What makes Giselle and Sinclair beautiful and unique though is their growth as individuals across the series and how they learn from their mistakes (hence the trilogy name, The Evolution Of Sin 😉

The book cover for The Secret is hot, hot, hot!! What level of steam can readers expect? And who designed that awesome cover?

The trilogy is definitely erotic, particularly the first book as it explores a seven day no-strings-attached affair. My enigmatic Frenchman, Sinclair, is ‘hot, hot, hot’ so I needed a cover to match his steaminess and the incredible Najla Qamber from Najla Qamber Designs created the perfect cover for him!

Your author bio mentions extensive travel. Where have you been lately? Any trips planned to celebrate the release of The Secret?

I just returned from a quick trip to Hawaii to soak in the sun and float in the salty blue waves. It reminded me of my trip to Cabo San Lucas when I was inspired to write Giselle and Sinclair’s holiday affair there, which was fitting because I was just finishing up the last book in their story. I have plans to visit Costa Rica at Christmas too because I always need to have a trip on the horizon or I get itchy feet!

What have you read lately that knocked your socks off? What’s coming up on your TBR?

I am full blown in love with Marianna Zapata and her slow burn romances. I just finished Lingus, which was her first book and the last one I read by her. I literally reccomend her books to anyone who will listen. Alessandra Torre is also my idol and she has been so kind as to give me advice throughout my entire journey as an author thus far so when her newest book, Moonshot, released two weeks ago, I read it in under four hours! Next up is Ruthless People by J.J. McAvoy because somehow I haven’t read that series by her yet!

Author Interview with Claudia Connor

Today on the blog we are featuring Claudia Conner, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of The McKinney Brothers series.

Claudia Connor.png

To start things off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background as an author?

Hi there. Thank you so much for having me. I’m excited to be here.

Okay, my background as an author is that I have no background. Really. I’ve always been a big reader, but I was never interested in writing, never thought I was particular good at. In fact, before my first book, I’d never written so much as a short story. BUT, I’ve always made up stories in my head, I see them like movies, I just never considered writing them down because I didn’t see myself as a writer. I mentioned this to a friend, thinking everyone made up stories, not true I found out, and she encouraged me to try. That was four years before my first book was published.

One reviewer wrote, “This debut mixes passion and compassion in a contemporary story that has emotional depth.” How did you come up with the idea for The McKinney Brothers series?

Matt and Abby and all the kids lived in my head for years! Like maybe seven years before I began trying to write down their story. It started small and grew with the emotional scenes coming first and the rest filling in. It grew until I spent almost more time with them in my head than I did in the real world. They got louder, the conversations more exact. There were many nights I cried myself to sleep so deep in Abby’s head, during that scene…I don’t to ruin it but…if you’ve read Worth The Fall you that scene.

The third book in the series released in April, 2016. Can we expect more from the McKinney Brothers? What are you working on now?

I’m almost finished with the first in a spin off series, The Walker Brothers. These were the super swoony men who raised the heroine in book two of the McKinney Brothers. The series will begin with Nick and Mia, whose story was originally included in Worth The Risk, but my editor and I decided they deserved their own book. I love them and I’m so glad their story is getting justice. Can’t wait for you to read it!

I love that you have a playlist to accompany Worth the Fall! Do you listen to music when you write?

Thank you! Music does aften spark a story line or at least a scene, but, no. I do not listen to music when I write. Ever. Chances are I know the words and if I know the words my brain can’t help but sing along and I can’t sing words and write other words at the same time. I’m amazed by people who can.

What would you say is one of your biggest writing challenges? Biggest source of success?

My biggest challenge is making decisions. I see scenes in so many different ways, different points of view, different settings, that I often create a mess of pieces to sort out. LOL My process is ugly. My greatest success is probably just finishing the book. The last book in particular was it was extremely difficult, so that was a huge win for me.

You mention in your bio that you went to Auburn University. Are you a big football fan? 🙂

Huge. HUGE. I grew up in Alabama and if you know anything about college football, you know that one of the biggest rivals, if not THE biggest rival, in the coutry is between Auburn and Alabama. Serious, serious business down here. You did not say R*LL   T*DE  in my house. My dad was dead serious. He once sent home one of my friends who thought he was joking. Both of my parents went to Auburn, my husband and I went to Auburn, and we have a daughter there now. :))) WAR EAGLE!

How did you end up in England for your studies? Will you ever draw on that time for one of your books?

One of my gradate professors had worked with the headmaster of a picturesque school in a little town in Sawbridgeworth. Highwych. Look it up if you’re interested in that kind of thing. The things they do there are INCREDIBLE. SO different than public school in America. I might draw from my travels for a book some day. I’ve traveled around Europe several times and there is a new adult story simmering in my mind right now.  🙂

Where can readers find out more about you or your work? On which sites are you most active?

I have a new website that I’m excited about. That’s a great place to find information. I’m most active on Facebook and Instagram. I love pictures. I have a Facebook Page and also a Facebook private group.

Oh! Almost fogot!! Beginning in January, Newsletter Subscribers will receive Matt and Abby short stories each and every month! REALLY excited about these. So please, go sign up. You can never have too much Matt in your life! You’ll also get deleted scenes and release news.

Are there any questions I haven’t asked you yet that you’d like to share with the Book Buddy readers?

Um…have you read The Bronze Horseman? Or seen Gladiator with Russel Crow? I encourage everyone I meet to do those two things. LOL I’m very bossy.

Thank you so much for joining in on the Author Interview Series!!
